Permanent Local Rules 2026
Out of Bounds
The boundary of the course is defined by the perimeter fence surrounding the course and by white stakes (behind the 9th green and in the area behind and to the left of the 18th green).
Paths and Roads
All paths are integral parts of the course, except the paths crossing the fairways of holes 2, 9 and 10.
These may be treated as immovable obstructions, from which relief is allowed under Rule 16.1b.
Sprinkler Heads near the Green
Relief may be taken under Rule 16.1b when an immovable obstruction in the general area lies:
- within two club-lengths of the putting green, and
- within two club-lengths of the ball, and
- interferes with the player’s line of play.
Temporary Local Rules in Force
Important:
Local Rules are binding. Information shown under 'Course Status' is not.
Preferred Lies (Placing)
Preferred lies were lifted as of 09/04/2026 and are no longer in effect.
No Play Zones in the General Area

- Hole 2: the newly planted heathland on the first hill.
- Hole 3: directly beyond the teeing areas and the seeded area near the three oak trees, right of the green.
- Hole 5: right of the blue/red teeing area, extending towards the fairway.
- Hole 6: right side of the fairway.
- Hole 7: seeded area left in front of the green.
- Hole 10: left and directly beyond the white teeing area and the seeded area surrounding the green.
- Hole 11: left side beyond the red teeing area.

- Hole 16: beyond the teeing area.
- Hole 18: left side beyond the teeing area.
Other areas are clearly identifiable and marked with ropes.
These areas are marked with blue stakes with green tops. Newly planted young heather plants on various holes, whether marked or unmarked, are also no-play zones.
The player must take relief without penalty under Rule 16.1f.
Dropping Zones for Ground Under Repair and/or No-Play Zones
Where one or more dropping zones are provided for Ground Under Repair, the following applies:
If a ball lies in Ground Under Repair, or if it is known or virtually certain that a ball which has not been found came to rest in Ground Under Repair, the player may take free relief from this abnormal course condition. Relief may be taken either by applying Rule 16.1f or by dropping the original ball or another ball in the dropping zone associated with that Ground Under Repair nearest to where the ball lies, even if this is nearer the hole.
This dropping zone is a dropping zone as referred to in Rule 14.3. The player must drop the ball within the dropping zone, which extends one club-length in all directions from the DZ sign, and the ball must come to rest within the dropping zone.
Ground Under Repair – General Area
The following course conditions may be treated as Ground Under Repair:
- Unmarked holes and clearly visible deep tyre tracks caused by maintenance work in the wooded areas.
- Piled branches and wood awaiting removal.
- Tree roots that have been ground out and the remains thereof.
- Large holes and cuts caused by aeration work on the course.
These conditions may be relieved from under the procedure of Rule 16.1b.
Note: stumps of felled trees are not Ground Under Repair.
Damage to the Course
In the general area, there are areas where damage has been caused by, among others, crows. Relief under Rule 16.1b is allowed, including for the player’s stance.
Recently seeded or repaired areas on the fairways are no-play zones and must be avoided without penalty under Rule 16.1f.
Tip
Please replace your divots and keep to the designated walkways with your trolley.
Never take your trolley between a bunker and the green.
