Permanent Local Rules 2026

Out of Bounds

The boundary of the course is defined by the perimeter fence surrounding the course and by white stakes (behind the 9th green and in the area behind and to the left of the 18th green).

Paths and Roads

All paths are integral parts of the course, except the paths crossing the fairways of holes 2, 9 and 10.
These may be treated as immovable obstructions, from which relief is allowed under Rule 16.1b.

Sprinkler Heads near the Green

Relief may be taken under Rule 16.1b when an immovable obstruction in the general area lies:

  • within two club-lengths of the putting green, and
  • within two club-lengths of the ball, and
  • interferes with the player’s line of play.

 Temporary Local Rules in Force

Important:

Local Rules are binding. Information shown under 'Course Status' is not.

Preferred Lies (Placing)

A ball lying in a closely mown area in the general area may be lifted without penalty, cleaned and placed.

The player must place the ball within 15 cm (6 inches) of its original spot, not nearer the hole.

The ball may be placed once only, and once it has been placed, it is in play.

No Play Zones in the General Area

  • Hole 1: left of the teeing grounds
  • Hole 2: newly planted heather on the first hill | turf area front-left of the green
  • Hole 3: immediately beyond the teeing grounds and the seeded area near the three oak trees, right of the green
  • Hole 5: right of the blue/red teeing grounds, extending to the fairway
  • Hole 6: right-hand side of the fairway
  • Hole 7: seeded area left in front of the green
  • Hole 10: left of and immediately beyond the white teeing grounds, and the seeded area around the green
  • Hole 11: left, beyond the red teeing grounds
  • Hole 13: beyond the teeing grounds up to the fairway, and the seeded area right of the green
  • Hole 16: beyond the teeing grounds
  • Hole 18: left beyond the teeing grounds

Other areas are clearly identifiable and marked with roping.

These areas are defined by blue stakes with green tops. Players must take relief without penalty under Rule 16.1f.

On hole 6, three drop areas are available as an option when taking relief (measured from the sign). If this option is chosen, the nearest drop area must be used.

The seeded area around the green on hole 10 is roped off and marked with blue stakes with green tops. This is a No Play Zone under Rule 2.4. Entering or playing from this area is strictly prohibited. The ball must be left in the area.

If a ball comes to rest in this zone, the player must determine the nearest point of complete relief. Alternatively, the player may use the nearest of the three drop areas, indicated by signs.

Playing from or entering this No Play Zone results in the General Penalty (two penalty strokes or loss of hole).

Ground Under Repair (GUR) – General Area

The following conditions may treated as Ground Under Repair:

  • Unmarked holes and deep tyre tracks caused by forestry work
  • Piled branches and timber awaiting removal
  • Milled tree roots and their remnants
  • Large holes and cuts caused by aeration

Relief may be taken under Rule 16.1b.

Note: Tree stumps from cut trees are not Ground Under Repair.

Damage to the Course

In the general area, there are areas where damage has been caused by, among others, crows. Relief under Rule 16.1b is permitted, including relief for the player’s stance.

Newly seeded or repaired areas on the fairways are No Play Zones and must be avoided without penalty under Rule 16.1f.

Tip

Please replace your divots and keep to the designated walkways with your trolley.
